Since 2013, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) has released their Dirty Dozen, an annual list of companies promoting sexual exploitation through pornography, sexual objectification, prostitution and sex trafficking. NCOSE refers to the Dirty Dozen as an "activism tool," allowing others to become aware of the various companies and corporations profiting from sexual exploitation.
For the last nine years, the Dirty Dozen has been driving change, leading to the improvement of policies at many companies. In the last year, we saw vast improvements in policies of Google's Chromebook, Mastercard and TikTok. But there is still further to go. This year, Etsy, Meta (formerly Facebook), Netflix and OnlyFans are four of the twelve companies listed.
