Fans of the Netflix original series Stranger Things have been patiently waiting for the release of a new season since 2017. After two years, Stranger Things 3 comes out this week. With the tremendous success of the first two seasons, expectations for the upcoming third season are high. Teenagers love Stranger Things. No doubt the show has made its mark on our culture. It is important for parents to be aware of and moderate teenage media consumption. While the writing, acting and general 80's nostalgia are seemingly harmless and fun, there are other considerations: dark themes, teenage sex, drinking, smoking and foul language. Parents should determine whether their children are mature enough to handle Stranger Things before allowing them to watch the new season. Axis has created A Parent's Guide to Stranger Things to help parents engage in conversation with teens about the show's themes and messages. To read a full review of Stranger Things, click here.
