After Utah's governor declared pornography a public health crisis, organizations and the Republican Party Platform have been hard at work to stop this dangerous concern. Haley Halverson from National Center on Sexual Exploitation commented, "Pornography is pervasive and popular today - there's no denying it and it's a really serious problem we have to address." Compare the issue of pornography to the 1950s. Smoking was considered "cool," people became hooked and did it to fit-in. Years later the harmful effects tobacco had on people became known by research and the public wanted a new approach to fix the problem. Evidence and research has shown the effects of pornography and people are now ready to stop this threatening addiction. Here are a few ways you can help:
- support organizations who are helping stop this addiction
- stop the normalization of pornography for our children
- teach others of the effects and how their support is so crucial
