Last fall it was estimated that 40 million students used Google Classroom and 30 million students used Chromebooks for learning. As virtual learning surged during the coronavirus pandemic, so did the use of virtual learning tools. Whether or not your child will be attending school in-person or virtually this year, it is likely that they will be asked to use a Google learning tool.
Google accounts are subject to the rules and regulations of your local school district and cannot always be controlled by in-home filters. Parents, we encourage you to be pro-active in setting parental controls on the devices given to children this fall. If necessary, talk with your school administration about how you can make your child's online learning experience safer.
